Danzal Baker was born on 31st October 1996. He is professionally known as Baker Boy, an Indigenous Australian rapper, dancer, artist, and actor. Baker Boy is known for performing original hip-hop songs incorporating both English and Yolŋu Matha. To date, he has released five singles: “Cloud 9” featuring Kian, “Marryuna” featuring Yirrmal, “Mr. La Di Da Di,” “Black Magic” featuring Dallas Woods, and “Cool As Hell.”

Baker Boy was born in Darwin, Australia and grew up in the Arnhem Land communities of Millingimbi and Maningrida. He went to school at Shalom Christian College in Townsville, Queensland and the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts in Brisbane. He graduated Year 12 in 2012.

2017–To Date: Early career
Baker Bor gained national prominence as the winner of the Triple J Unearthed National Indigenous Music Awards Competition in 2017. He released the singles “Cloud 9” featuring Kian and “Marryuna” featuring Yirrmal in the same year. Both singles were featured in the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown of 2017.
Baker Boy has performed at festivals such as BIGSOUND, Groovin’ the Moo Festival, the Woodford Folk Festival, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, WOMADelaide, and Golden Plains Festival. He performed with acts such as Yothu Yindi and Dizzee Rascal on 2018.
Baker Boy was announced as an opening act for American rapper 50 Cent in January 2018, along with Australian artists A.B. Original.
His third single, “Mr. La Di Da Di” was released in April, and his fourth “Black Magic” featuring Dallas Woods was released in July.
On 25th January 2019, Baker released his fifth single, “Cool As Hell.” On the same day, he became the 2019 recipient of the Young Australian of the Year award.
