Microsoft is finally bringing blurred backgrounds for video calls and meetings to its Teams app for Android, allowing users to partially conceal distractions in the background that may be happening during a video call or a meeting.
It is extending several other features from the Teams desktop app to Android in the coming months like the new so-called Dynamic view that’ll allow people on the call to share content with other meeting participants, a new presentation mode and a view to see more meeting participants, updates that are set to be rolled out sometime in march.
Microsoft is also going to roll out custom layouts on the desktop app, allowing presenters to customize how content shows up for meeting participants, including overlaying video on content or moving a content box to a corner of the video view.
A low-data mode feature, available to access via the settings menu, which will help Teams users who have limited data connections or slow broadband is also going to be rolled out. This feature will be especially useful to those with data limits or monthly caps.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the Calendar team is developing a full calendar view on mobile clients. However, it again hasn’t said when the feature will be ready.
This feature will allow users to see a calendar beyond one week, which it is currently limited to on the Teams mobile apps. Full calendar view will allow users to see calendar events for at least a month.
