According to an insider, “Simon’s moving with the times and thinks that his formats could work for Netflix. A meeting with his team and their Content Acquisition team has been pencilled in for September.”
The news comes after Simon after Cowell announced he was walking away from his record label Syco in order to focus his energy on the Got Talent franchise.
At the time a spokesperson for Simon confirmed, ‘Simon Cowell and Sony Music Entertainment (“SME”) have reached an agreement for Cowell to acquire SME’s stake in their global joint venture talent and production company, which owns Got Talent and The X Factor.
America’s Got Talent already drops weekly on Netflix UK giving British. While Got Talent has been successful in recent years, the same can’t be said for The X Factor, which has failed to pull in a large audience like it once did.The show has since been rested for 2020.
