A man in Rwanda was killed and eaten by a crocodile on Wednesday in the Nyabarongo river after violating lockdown, orders amid the coronavirus outbreak, to go fishing.
According to the mayor of the southern Kamonyi district, Alice Kayitesi,the individual had broken the stay home rule and he is among the very few people who are not cooperating with the lockdown, imposed last Sunday by Rwandan president Paul Kagame.
All travels within the cities have been banned except for important services and business and markets shut down during this period.However,all cargo and citizens entering the country will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine.
Rwanda has the highest number of reported cases in East Africa with 40 reported cases so far. No deaths have been reported yet. All those in the medical facilities are reported to be stable and are in isolation.
