Detectives are investigating a string of shootings that left 15 wounded and four dead during Memorial Day weekend across St. Louis.
The first shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday near Union and Thekla. Police said a man,who’s in critical condition, was dropped off at a nearby hospital with gun shot wounds.
Around 7:10 pm, a 14-year-old girl was shot in the 1400 block of N. Market. At 7:15 p.m, a man in his 30’s was shot in the in the 4200 block of Ashland while driving around the area of St. Louis Ave and Newstead.
At 9 p.m. homicide detectives were called to a deadly double shooting in the Kingsway West neighborhood, that left 36 year old Robert Cannon dead in the 5300 block of Cote Brilliante and a teen with a bullet wound on his foot.
At 9.30 p.m.,15-year-old Malik Valley was shot in the 3900 block of Evans.He died in hospital. Just after 11 p.m. police say a man in his 40’s shot a 16 year old boy.
Officers then found a man in his 50’s gunned down inside his car in the area of N. Garrison and Montgomery around 12:20 a.m. He later died from his injuries.
A man was shot while exiting a store in the 1300 block of Hodiamont at around 12:45 a.m. He was treated from a local hospital and released.
Around 1:15 a.m., a woman was shot near Vandeventer and St. Louis Ave in the Greater Ville neighborhood and moments later, a man was dropped off at a local hospital after being shot near Goodfellow and Switzer in the arm.
Just before 1:45 a.m., a 34 year old man and 18 year old man,both in stable condition, and a 21-year-old woman, listed in critical condition, showed up wounded at a hospital after being shot at while inside their car.
Another man was hospitalized after being shot in the head at 2:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Hamilton after getting in an argument with two suspects while leaving the budget inn.
At around 3.a.m. another shooting,that left a man injured, occurred at N. Garrison Ave near Hebert.
A double shooting occurred around 3.20 a.m. around 900 block of S. Broadway near a BP gas station leaving Jaymes Jackson, 21, dead and a 22-year-old in critical condition.
Just before 4 a.m., a man was shot in the shoulder near Romaine and Hodiamont. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said a man in his 50s got out of a white truck and shot the victim as he was walking.
There have been at least 63 homicides in St. Louis City this year.
