Bobby Shmurda is set to be released from prison as early as tomorrow (Feb. 23). The 26-year-old rapper is looking forward to spending quality time with his family and getting back into the studio after spending the last six years incarcerated.

The outlet spoke with Shmurda’s mother, Leslie Pollard, who said she’s counting down the hours until her son’s release. Pollard told the outlet that Shmurda’s release day festivities will include a quiet dinner with his family. She reportedly added that after the dinner, Shmurda is also looking to hit the ground running by working on some new music.

Shmurda, whose legal name is Ackquille Pollard, will need to regularly check-in with his parole officer.  After his release, he will be on parole until 2026.

Shmurda was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to conspiracy and weapons possession charges. The 26-year-old was arrested along with his collaborator and friend Rowdy Rebel, who was freed last month.

“We gon’ keep it going… I got a couple of artists that’s dope. And once I flame on, Bobby’s coming home in a few,” he added. “Don’t even trip. Ain’t nothing change. We still the waviest.”
