Larry was working in New York in 1988 when he met Pamela Baer at a birthday party. The next day he got her number from the party’s host, but it took a couple of weeks for them to connect. Finally, they arranged to meet for brunch. The actually missed each other on their first date because Larry left just a few minutes before Pam arrived. “It’s a snowy Sunday morning,” he said. “No Pam. I leave after 15 minutes. Witnesses say the two were in a loud argument and Baer tried to take a cell phone away from his wife. Two witnesses here at the scene said they intervened during the altercation and separated the two as the wife screamed for help.

Baer spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle about the incident … saying, “My wife and I had an unfortunate public argument related to a family member & she had an injured foot and she fell off her chair in the course of the argument.”
“The matter is resolved. It was a squabble over a cell phone. Obviously, it’s embarrassing.”
