Margaret Nolan, iconic for her role as Dink in the James Bond film “Goldfinger,” has died at 76. Her son, Oscar Deeks, confirmed the news that she had passed away on Oct. 5, Variety reported. She is also survived by another son, Luke O’Sullivan.
The former glamour model, who briefly posed under the name Vicky Kennedy, also gained fame for her role in The Beatles movie “A Hard Day’s Night” and in the family comedy “Carry On” film franchise. After her sensual performance next to Sean Connery’s James Bond in “Goldfinger” in 1964, the blond bombshell would go on to pose for Playboy.
She died at the age of 76 years old.
She was born in Norton Radstock, Somerset to an English mother and Irish father, and grew up in Hampstead, London. Nolan was married to English playwright Tom Kempinski in 1967 and divorced in 1972. She had two sons. Nolan died in October 2020 at the age of 76.
Margaret Nolan began her career in front of a camera lens as a model. As her glamour modeling career took off, she was briefly known as Vicky Kennedy in the early 1960s. Nolan reverted to her birth name as soon as acting roles beckoned; appearing in numerous television shows, theatre productions, and films. The latter included A Hard Day’s Night with the Beatles, Ferry Cross the Mersey with Gerry and the Pacemakers, and Marcel Carné’s Three Rooms in Manhattan.
She first appeared on film under the name Vicky Kennedy in “glamour” shorts by the then notorious Harrison Marks, appearing in his naturist film It’s a Bare, Bare World. She soon graduated to more mainstream films, with a noticeable role in the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night (as the girl accompanying Wilfrid Brambell in a casino), and the James Bond film Goldfinger, as the masseuse Dink. Nolan also appeared in Goldfinger’s celebrated title sequence, wearing a gold bikini and with images projected on her skin – though in the film itself it was Shirley Eaton who played Jill Masterson, the girl smothered to death by gold paint.
It's my sad duty to report that actress and artist, the magnificent Margaret Nolan has passed away. She was the middle of Venn diagram of everything cool in the 60's; having appeared with the Beatles, been beyond iconic in Bond and been part of the Carry On cast too. 1/4 pic.twitter.com/YaEaWDmLt2

In a thread, he continued, “She was the gold-painted model in the iconic Goldfinger title sequence and poster (she also played Dink in the movie), she appeared in the classic ‘A Hard Day’s Night,’ ‘Carry On Girls,’ ‘No Sex Please We’re British’ & many others, frequently sending up her own glamourpuss image.”
“I worked with her last year as she plays a small role in ‘Last Night In Soho.’ She was so funny, sharp, and, as you might imagine, full of the most amazing stories. I’m so glad I got to know her,” said Wright, who cast Nolan in her final role in 2019.
“My heart goes out to her family and all that loved her. She will be much missed,” he added.
