Chadwick Aaron Boseman was an American actor and producer. He has portrayed several real-life historical figures, such as Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), James Brown in Get on Up (2014), and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall (2017).

He has also played the superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Black Panther (2018), for which he won a NAACP Image Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

A South Carolina native, Boseman graduated in 2000 from Howard University, a historically Black college in Washington, DC. While there, he also attended the British American Drama Academy at Oxford in 1998, according to Howard’s website.

Chadwick Boseman Career

Boseman made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2016 as T’Challa/Black Panther in “Captain America: Civil War,” according to Howard. Black Panther then got his own stand-alone movie that released in 2018, which broke box office records. Marvel Studios president had previously announced the second movie of the “Black Panther” saga would debut in theaters in May 2022.

“As Black Panther, he was also a superhero to many,” he wrote on Twitter. “And despite his 4 year-long battle with cancer, he kept fighting and he kept inspiring. He will be missed.”

Chadwick Boseman Wife (Taylor Simone Ledward)

Boseman and Ledward were first spotted together in 2015 inside of Los Angeles International Airport and then again in June 2017 outside the studio of the late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where Boseman appeared as a guest.

While accepting the award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, Boseman kissed Ledward before proceeding to the stage. During his acceptance speech, he said, “Simone, you’re with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you.” She mouthed back the words, “I love you.”

In October 2019, it was revealed that the two had become engaged. Boseman reportedly proposed to her while the couple were vacationing in Malibu, California.

Chadwick Boseman Death & Cause

The actor has been battling colon cancer since 2016 and died at home with his family and wife by his side, according to a statement posted on his Twitter account. Chadwick died of complications related to his four-year battle with colon cancer at his home on August 28, 2020. He died at the age of 43.
